Why haven't I? Well, I've never been very good at cooking (with the exception of pasta, but it's pretty simple), so naturally I assumed that I was never very good at baking. Long story short, Lauren Wirtis from high school once told me her father is terrible at cooking but is a phenomenal baker. So, I thought maybe there's still hope...it just took me two years to finally get motivated enough and realize that baking isn't as scary as it seems. If I create something terrible tasting, then so be it - at least I tried.
With that being said, I should have you know that making my very own oatmeal raisin cookies has always been a goal of mine. They are my favorite cookies and always thought one should know how to make their favorite foods.
Yesterday I decided was the day to make cookies for the first time. Instead of starting out with oatmeal raisin, I started with chocolate chip. It just seemed like the right cookie to start with.
How did they turn out? Pretty good, but they looked bland and boring. So I'm trying to figure out how to make them look as delicious as they taste.

See the difference?
The oatmeal raisin cookies taste SO good, but they don't look as good as they taste. They don't look as bad as the chocolate chips, though.
Any suggestions for how I can make them look better?
Now onto the snickerdoodles!
